Easter Blessings

We have been blessed!  I have been fortunate to have always been off work for Easter.  It has always fallen on one of my weekends off oddly enough.  While we would have loved sunshine to enjoy celebrating Jesus and the miracle of the resurrection outside, we enjoyed great company inside.

We started the day by giving Caleb and Elizabeth their Easter baskets.  Caleb then enjoyed a breakfast of candy and milk.  (One day won't hurt right?  I owe his Sunday school teachers an apology!)

Then we were off to church. I have to say we all looked pretty nice dressed up a little more than normal. I am so thankful that Blake and I are able to sit together during the services while our children are cared for in the nursery and kids' classes. The times of Caleb throwing fits and being called to go get him seem like a distant memory.

After stopping home to make a fruit bowl and a dip, we loaded up the van and headed to Troy. We had a nice lunch with Blake's family. The rain held off for a bit and the kids got to hunt for eggs outside. Caleb had a blast playing with cousin Keri's 5 year old twin boys. Elizabeth loved making everyone smile and I know Judy enjoyed showing off her granddaughter.

We ate dinner with my family and welcomed my parents home from their vacation to Hawaii. Their pictures were amazing and I hope to go there myself one day. I am so thankful they had a great time and made it home safely. My parents had not flown for over 30 years! Needless to say they had a little anxiety about the flights.
Abby and Caleb searched for eggs outside while it started to sprinkle. Caleb quickly decided he would rather turn over Nana's garden stones and look for bugs. Silly kiddo! He just can't get enough of worms and creepy crawlies!
The day was busy and we were all tired when we returned home.  But we were blessed to spend it together with family, blessed to have shelter from the rain, blessed to be healthy and most of all blessed to be forgiven and loved by our Father, God.
