I was a bad mommy and didn't get Elizabeth in for her 6 month check up until Monday, March 7th! That is the first time I have been so late in making an appointment for either kid. I felt bad because it ended up being more than a well visit because Elizabeth had woke up Sunday morning with a horrible cough and chest congestion. Monday morning she was actually wheezing a little.
Dr Saker said she looks great and is meeting her milestones just fine. Elizabeth weighed in at 16lbs even and 26.5 inches long. She is 50% for weight and 75% for length. (I am so happy that she is still growing well on mommy's milk after I was so sick!) But the wheezing led the doctor to order a breathing treatment for Elizabeth. Caleb was a little worried about everything. He is such a concerned big brother and was telling Elizabeth it was just "medcine to help her bweath." The breathing treatment did clear up her chest some so we also got a prescription for an inhaler to use over the following days. So sad to see my sweet baby sick like that. Fortunately, she didn't have a fever and was pretty happy despite it all. And because it seemed viral, no antibiotics were needed.
We ended up using the inhaler for just a few days and Elizabeth is as good as new! She has been enjoying a few walks outside with Caleb and me with the nicer weather.
