Most of the time, I am bummed when the evening comes that I have to return to work. But here lately, I have decided it is not all bad being a working mom. Of course, I would still choose to stay home if given the affordable option! The interaction with adults and the satisfaction of knowing my patients appreciate my care is a nice change from my mom duties.
I hate missing time with my kids and of course sometimes fret that whoever is with them isn't doing it "my way." Thankfully, we have found a great nanny and she is keeping my babies safe and happy. And Blake does a terrific job taking over being Mommy and Daddy the evenings I am at work or sleeping. Sunday he managed to get both kids to take a nap at the same time, gave Caleb a haircut, and got the house cleaned up for our Super Bowl get together.
Lauren, our nanny, is keeping me a sane working mama by helping with the kids' laundry, keeping my kitchen clean, and of course feeding/entertaining/playing with and loving my kids. Sometimes I wonder how she can get it all done. There are days I barely eat or go to the bathroom myself! Caleb is quite the mama's boy and prefers that I do everything with him instead of the sitter. But today, he was really bummed to see her go. He gave her a big hug. After she left he kept asking when she was going to come back. That makes me feel good. It took a little bit of searching, but we have found a nanny that works for our family! Unfortunately, she graduates in June and is hoping to find an elementary teaching job for the fall. I have already told her if she has no luck and ends up subbing we would love to keep her. But for now, we have fallen into a groove with mommy back at work.

Glad you are happy with your nanny.... being happy with childcare is the number 1 way for me to be okay with working. Hope your Caleb had a good 3rd bday!
I'm so glad the nanny is going well and you are finding your routine! There is nothing better than knowing your kids are still having a good time when mommy is away!
