We celebrated with a family party a few days early last Sunday so that Uncle Clarke could be there. There were some special people that weren't able to make it, but the party was not lacking for love. Blake wowed everyone again with his cake making skills. I almost feel like a bad mom for not getting in on the cake making or the cooking when it comes to birthdays. But when you have a husband that loves to do both and takes it very serious it is easy to sit back and watch! I literally iced one side of the cake and watched.
Caleb was blessed with books, new clothes, and a big wheel from Uncle Clarke. And of course, Caleb's favorite part of any party is singing "Happy brithday." It is the cutest thing to watch as his face lights up.
I am sure I am bias, but Caleb really does seem so smart for just turning 3. He is a little genius when it comes to animals. He knows so, so many and has for a long time. We have colors, most shapes and numbers 1-20 down pretty well. We are working on alphabet recognition and getting much better. Caleb is keeping his undies dry all day long, but still wears pull-ups at night.
I am sad to watch my baby boy turn into such an independent big boy. I have to remind myself when he is throwing tantrums, talking incessently, and driving me crazy that he is only little for a short time. I am so thankful to be Caleb's mommy and to be able to watch him grow.
