We have been a busy family since September started. Last Sunday the 30th I got called off work and gladly stayed home with Caleb and Blake. Caleb and I enjoyed a walk and played at the park while Blake worked on work for school. Monday, we went to the thrift store and found some great bargains! Caleb got a pair of jeans, 2 long sleeved shirts, sweatshirt, and two books. I got myself 2 shirts also. Tuesaday we had no plans and ended up going to the zoo for an impromptu trip. It was strange to be there without the crowds, but very nice to avoid lines and crazy people. Caleb was pretty well behaved and I managed letting him walk in addition to riding in his stroller. We saw the elephants, bears, white tigers, and manatee buliding. We got to see Mardy a nine day old zebra. He was pretty cute! We ate lunch and Caleb got up close and personal with some peacocks. I hope we make it to the zoo a few more times before the season is over.
Thursday we visited with Megan and Julia. We took a walk in their neighborhood and Caleb checked out all of Julia's books and toys. I worked that night and Friday.
I was lucky to be off all of Labor Day weekend with my guys. Saturday we went to East Fork Lake to eat dinner with Dave, Ruth Anne and Luke. Dave and RuthAnne were camping out there. Caleb ran around the campground and loved eating dinner in Grandpa's boat. Caleb and I enjoyed some corn on the cob straight off the grill. Sunday we went to church and Caleb actually did well in the nursery again. The whole church/nursery issue has been a hot topic in our house. Blake argues it is not even worth it to go since one of us ends up running around with Caleb or outside on the playground. Now that I know Caleb's fits are short lived and that he does not get kicked out, I feel this stress is lifting. We can now all enjoy our weekly church experience! After church, we went up to the Beckett's house to visit with Drew, Ashley and Brayden since they were in town for the long weekend. We had not gotten together since our vacation in June! And we got to congratulate them on their baby on the way! We ate lunch and the boys played and napped. Then Drew and Ashley came down to our house on their way home to KY. The guys went out to get this barbarque that Blake keeps raving about, but they got there and the place was closed! So we ate Subway instead.
Monday we didn't have any plans other then relaxing, but Blake's mom called and wanted to meet for dinner. It had been awhile since we saw her so I said let's just go up to Piqua and visit too. Judy was very happy to see her "baby" and had some winter clothes and snacks for him. Mimi has to spoil her grandbaby! Caleb loved playing with this old wooden truck that was Blake's. He impressed Mimi with his coordination and new words. We met Blake's grandparents at Bob Evans for dinner. Caleb waved hi to Everyone! It is cute, but I worry he is bothering people sometimes! It was a really great weekend and I am thankful we spent time with family and friends!
