Blake started teaching on Wednesday. The first week back after a long summer is always filled with the class rules and what not so not the best reality of what the year may be like. Since Blake is only half time, he has been leaving the house around 9-9:30. This works out great since I do not get home until around 8 the mornings after I work. We will really only need someone to watch Caleb for one full day each week.
After school Wednesday, Blake's football team had a home scrimmage. Caleb and I went up to watch and get out of the house. Surprisingly, Caleb sat on my lap and watched for about 15 minutes. He then entertained some of the parent's by saying "hi" and putting his arms up each time the whistles blew. We walked around the fields and I let him run free. It was hot, but he had fun. Unfortunately, Blake's team is not the most athletic and it may be a long, painful season for them. :( They actually had to stop the scrimmage early because they had too many kids hurt! Yikes!
I have been home the last 3 days with Caleb and to tell you the truth I am worn out! He has been a little wild man. Climbing on chairs, running all over, getting into desk drawers and the pantry. Needless to say, my house is covered with the aftermath. The weather kept us inside a lot and I know this makes him bored. We did go to the park yesterday late afternoon, but only stayed for 20 minutes or so because he got too hot. His cheeks were so red and he had a sweaty little head! We went for an early walk to the recycling bins this morning. He loves his red wagon. One of the best gifts he got for his birthday. I was pretty desperate to do something this afternoon. Blake went straight from school to football practice and then to watch a high school football game. So, I called up Kate and told her I was coming over! She didn't care since she is alone on Fridays too. Caleb was so excited to see Abby. He can say her name now and it is the sweetest thing. She welcomed him with a big hug and kiss. So adorable to watch them. We went to O'Charleys to eat dinner and the kids were pretty good. Then they had a ball playing at Kate's house. What fun it is to play with someone else's toys and books. Caleb was really into Abby's play kitchen. He just cooked his little heart out. I really want to find one on Craigslist to get him for Christmas. I keep looking so hopefully I will find one I like. I enjoyed hearing all about the Grigsby's first week back to school and Abby's first week in daycare/preschool. I am so glad they all survived the first week. It is such a big change for them all. Abby loves school just like I knew she would. She is one smart cookie! I am so glad Kate and I have grown closer over the past few years. She is such a great mom and I am learning from her. She is such a beautiful person and I am so thankful to have her as my little sis and friend. I love you, Kate!!

How nice that you have your sister and Abby to play with! It is so hard when husbands have those long days and don't come home. It makes for a long day with the baby!
