A weekend away..

Friday Blake and I went on a weekend get away with our friends Katie and Doug. After I got home from work, we loaded up their car and began our drive to Gatlinburg. Kate and Abby came over to watch Caleb until Luke was able to come over for the rest of the weekend. I napped on the drive.
I was nervous to leave Caleb with Luke since he has not watched Caleb very much. I would have left him with my parents, but I had thought they were going to be out of town too. Luke actually volunteered when Blake's dad said he was busy. I made sure the pantry/fridge was stocked with all of Caleb's favorite foods and Blake created a detailed outline of the daily routine.
After driving around aimlessly in the mountains, we found our cabin! We almost ran out of gas! The cabin was very nice. I forgot to take pictures of it though! The best part was the 3 decks and hot tub. We grilled out dinner, played cards, drank some adult beverages and soaked in the hottub.
It was so nice to sleep in and not have to worry about little Caleb. I sure love that boy, but it was a nice break! We drove into Gatlinburg and ate breakfast out. It was fun to browse through the shops and people watch. The streets were pretty crowded. Everytime we passed a mom pushing a stroller, I thought of Caleb and for a split second wished he was there. We made sure to check in with Luke during Caleb's naps and after his bedtime. I think Luke realized what a job it is to have a toddler! Fortunately, Caleb was pretty good. He did cry some and kept saying "Mama" and "Daddy." I am sure he was confused to where we were.
Saturday we had pizza delivered to our cabin. Let's just say they get you with the service fee to deliver it up there! Then we played cards and made some smores. Yummy! We enjoyed the hottub some more and then more cards!
We also went to the outlets and got Caleb some fall clothes and shoes. Funny how you don't think of buying yourself things anymore! I enjoyed the time with Blake and our friends, but did miss my sweet baby boy. I thoroughly enjoyed getting him out of his crib when we got home Sunday afternoon. He had a sweet smile and hug for me. He spent the rest of the evening attached to my lap. I think he was afraid I might disappear if he let go of me!
Fun posing at the Wax Museum in Gatlinburg.
