One month with two kiddos!

Yesterday marked Elizabeth's first month of life. I cannot really remember life without her. I am afraid to type the words, but it really has been great so far. I don't know if I just have a super easy newborn or I am still running on adrenaline. I feel great physically and have not had too many mommy meltdowns yet. Of course, the future may hold many! Elizabeth is a pretty good sleeper and I am actually getting 5-6 hours each night.

We have celebrated the birthdays of Great Grandpa, Gigi and Pawpa. I have tackled the grocery twice now with both kids. (I figured I might as well go and get it over with. The toddler tantrum and hungry, crying newborn happened as soon as we walked in our front door. We all took a nap that day!) We have gone to the park, taken walks and visited with numerous family members. We have changed hundreds of diapers and I have done countless loads of laundry. Good thing laundry is one household chore I don't mind! We have cried, laughed and thanked God for our wonderful little family.

How our family has changed:

1. Instead of waking up to my sweet Caleb-boy, I wake to Caleb- boy and his little sister "Lizbeth."

2. It now takes three times as long to get out of the house to run errands or make an appt. By the time we are all dressed, someone has either pooped, needs to go potty or has forgotten to pack the diaper bag.

3. Caleb has learned to be gentle and loves to hold his sister every morning. He is also possessive and tell's everyone "She's MY baby sister."

4. Our house is not only covered in a toddler boy's toys and clothes, but the baby items of a sweet little girl. Is there room for Mommy and Daddy's things?

5. Our house is filled with more hugs, kisses and cuddling than ever before. Blake and I almost never have an empty lap. And that is just fine with me.

Tula will be a month old on Friday..... time is going even faster with 2 kiddos!! I am glad that you all are adjusting. You are way braver than me with doing the grocery trip with two kiddos.... but maybe it is because you are getting 5-6 hours a night!!! You are a lucky mama! :)

* I can't wait to dry my diapers in the sun to get rid of the stains!!!

Thanks ladies. Even though it takes a lot of time and is hard work, I am more sane if I get out of the house. And fortunately, if I wear Elizabeth in a carrier she sleeps and it's almost like it is just me and Caleb.
