Friday, April 16th was the big ultrasound day. I worked Thursday night and the hours slowly ticked by as I was very excited to see my little one. Blake and Caleb met me at the dr's office so we could all see the new baby together.
I had convinced myself it would be another boy, but mainly because I did not want any disappointment if it was a boy. But for some reason all night at work I kept wanting to refer to the baby as a she or her.
During the ultrasound the baby was moving all around and was a little reluctant to show any shots of her bottom. I kept thinking " I don't see anything dangling." Finally the tech brought a still pic to the screen and said, "Here is your little girl." Blake and I both gasped a little and started laughing! I was excited and a little shocked. I know Blake has fears of raising a daughter, but he is also excited.
Caleb's first reaction to having a sister was "like Abby." SO I think he does understand a little bit that the baby will be a girl.
I had an appointment afterwards and everything is going well minus a little UTI. I have gained about 11 lbs and that is right where I was at 20 weeks with Caleb. Can't believe the halfway point is past!
