Whew! Almost caught up!

It has been tiring to write all of these blog updates! I really need to write as things happen. New Year's Eve day we had our sibling gift exchange at my parent's house. All of my siblings and our signifcant others draw names and do a gift exchange. We played games and at snacks. Caleb and Abby got to give each other presents this year!
New Year's Eve was not too exciting. I had to work as it was my holiday. Blake took Caleb to our friend's house. Doug and Katie got a Wii for Christmas and were excited to teach Blake how to play. I called Blake at midnight and got to wish both of my guys a "Happy New Year!" Caleb got to get up just for little bit right before the ball dropped.

New Year's Day my parents came over for a yummy rib dinner and we exchanged gifts with them. It was a never ending Christmas this year! We all received some great gifts. Caleb showed Nana and Papi all of his new toys. I love watching him play like a big boy. He makes his little farm animals walk and laughs when the rooster crows!

January 2009 has proved to be an exhausting month for me at work. I have never been so emotionally, physically and mentally drained from work before. The acuity of the patients is unreal and the entire hospital has been full to capacity. It has been a real challenge to provide great care to my patients and stay on top of the paperwork. Then I have to come home and be a good mom and wife! I have been praying for strength, patience, and perseverance to get through it! I know that I can only do my best, but there always seems to be more I need to do.

I understand how you feel about being exhausted from work and then trying to be a great mommy and wife. It is so hard and the only thing that helps my perspective is prayer. :)

I think you are great for what you do! Your schedule is a trying one in itself. You have such an important job on top of your jobs at home--I'm sure Blake and Caleb both appreciate your dedication to both. I will be praying for your strength :)

If you ever need to vent you know I'm here for you! You are a wonderful Mommy to Caleb, and that is top priority. Keep pushing through, I'll be praying for an easier time at work for you. Love you!

Thanks for all the support ladies! It does feel good to write it all out and know that as a mom I am not alone in my feelings. And yes, venting helps as does your prayers!
