The first month..

We came home from the hospital and quickly learned that you really don't sleep with a newborn! Breastfeeding was a challenge at first, but by 2 weeks we had it figured out. Blake jumped right in and quickly perfected the art of changing diapers!

During his first week of life, he went to the pediatricians twice because of jaundice. It cleared up with lots of nursing. He met my grandma and grandpa and then his other great grandparents in Piqua and West Milton. Many friends and family members came over to visit. My good friend Stephanie even flew in from Tucson to meet Caleb! We were very excited to introduce everyone to our sweet baby. By one month, Caleb met pretty much all of his family, except my brother Jared who was away at college.

At Caleb's one month checkup, he weighed 8 lb 2oz and was 21 inches long. He loved to sleep on Blake's chest and to look at the lights. I enjoyed rocking him in the nursery and taking afternoon naps with him on the couch.
