Spring break.....Blake style.

Blake+spring break = fishing and more fishing.  The man just loves to get his boat on the water when he can. (Well, the boat he shares with his brother Luke.)  So rather than taking a one night trip, the guys planned to take the families for 3 days of fishing fun.
We left the Monday before Easter for Dale Hollow in southern Kentucky.  I worked Sunday night so we left once I got home.  Caleb watched a movie and was excited while Elizabeth was not thrilled with being stuck in the van.  Girl wanted to be free!
Once we arrived, the dads unloaded the gear and were out the door to hit the lake.   Go figure!  My sister-in-law Danielle and I were left in the cabin/house with the four kids and our dog.  While the living quarters were not ideal, (a loft bedroom, and two bedrooms connected in the basement)  we managed to get the younger ones to nap a little and kept the boys from driving each other too crazy.  Caleb and Connor are exactly a year apart and can butt heads just a little bit.  Despite the bickering, they did enjoy playing in the hottub and exploring the property.  They collected bb gun shells of all things!  Elizabeth loved being outside and was content to play with gravel.  The weather was great.  Sunny and in the 80's so I could not complain about that.
We grilled out, did spaghetti one night, and had a bonfire each night to make yummy smores. The smores and the warm weather were my favorite parts of the trip!   Danielle and I both were quick to pull out our Kindles and enjoy some quiet time to read once the kids were all tucked in for the night.  God bless Danielle, she is 35 weeks pregnant with her third baby and did not complain once about being pregnant or chasing after her very active 15 month old.  She looks great too!
I finally got to go out for a ride on the boat too!  It was nice, but a certain little girl was too tired from not napping to enjoy it so we had to cut the ride short.
Overall, it was nice to spend some time together with Luke and his family.  But we were all ready to have our own space by the time we left Thursday morning.  Danielle and I especially!   We get along well, but we were tired of hearing our voices tell the boys to stop touching and leave each other alone!
