Our Florida vacation was Elizabeth's first family trip! She was a trooper and managed to be pretty calm during our long drive south. I think it helped to be entertained by her big brother and that we drove all night.

Elizabeth proved to be a flexible baby. She slept great in her pack-n-play and even napped on the beach. I think she was mesmerized by all the sights and sounds of the beach. I wasn't sure what she would think of sand, but she found it to be fun to play with and even to eat! She loved crawling all over and put smiles on the faces of all those beachgoers sitting around us.

Elizabeth experienced a few firsts while we were in Florida. Her first little tooth popped through on Tuesday July 12th. She really didn't show any signs of discomfort at all. During the middle of the week, I came into her room to get her after a nap and she was standing up in her pack-n-play! All by herself. She looked like such a big girl and was so proud of her accomplisment.
Elizabeth loves to eat and she tasted some new things on vacation. Blake and Caleb caught some Spanish mackeral on their fishing adventure so we ate them one night for dinner. Elizabeth gobbled the fish up! Caleb tried the fish, but didn't show the same enthuasiam for his catch! The last night of our stay, I had salmon that came with beans and rice. Well, both kids love beans so I shared some with each of them. Elizabeth, being the great eater that she is, ate more than she should have. On our drive home, she had 3 "out of the diaper and up her back" poops! Talk about a stinky mess! Luckily, we had plenty of clothes, diapers, and wipes to take care of it. Plus she was a happy pooper and wasn't bothered by the explosions at all.
Overall, Elizabeth loved our trip and agrees we need to go back!

Such good pictures~ we also had up the back poops on the way TO and FROM the beach! YUCK Did you take your cloth diapers to the beach?? We didn't and if you did, I want to know how!! Also, does she wear a disposable pool/beach diaper? Fill me in!
I use Bumgenius and prefolds. So I took 8 BG dipes with us. I used them when we were at the condo and at night most of the time. The rest of the time I used Kroger brand disposables. I think I did 2 or 3 loads of dipes while we were there. For the pool and beach I use a cloth diaper cover. It will catch poop only. I just have to wait until we get to the pool or beach to put it on!
