Family news. Good and bad.

Life has been a bagful of emotions for our family lately. Almost 2 weeks ago, Blake was let go from Lakota and is jobless for next school year He had interviewed with another school district and we knew he had a good shot at getting job. Well, Saturday a rejection letter arrived in the mail. The news made for a pretty dreary weekend. I feel horrible for Blake and know he feels bad enough that I have been the main provider for our family for the last five years. I also feel guilty for being upset about it for my own selfish reasons. I was really counting on and looking forward to cutting back to 2 nights a week after maternity leave this fall. Of course, the summer should hopefully bring a new job and secure us financially for next year. It just won't be in the school districts Blake is interested in.

On a good note, we set up Caleb's big boy room and moved him in on Sunday. He seems to love his new toddler bed and has been sleeping in it like a champ. The bedding is cars and trucks which he loves. Blake got him a little wooden train set from Ikea that Caleb just can't get enough of! I am so relieved that it has not been a difficult transition for my little boy. I think he will have plenty of time to become 100% comfortable in his new room before his sister takes over the nursery.

Oh, I almost forgot. Our baby girl now has a name! Elizabeth Grace will join our family in August and I am so looking forward to meeting her. Blake came up with the name and even suggested the nickname Ellie. I had been considering Lydia, but was surprised that Blake had even been thinking about girl names! I really like Elizabeth and it goes well with Caleb. Grace is a name I like and it just flows nicely in my opinion. I still haven't fully wrapped my mind around the fact that I am gong to have a daughter in less than 4 months!
